Megaplast MM is the 3rd generation acrylic plastics for structural bonding and repair of synthetic materials. Megaplast MM consists of methyl methacrylates, is fast curing, has an extreme tensile strength and is very good UV and solvent resistant.

  • Megaplast MM: universal 2 component selfmixing methyl methacrylate adhesive (MMA).
  • Mix ratio: 1/1.
  • Working time: 5 minutes.
  • Fixture time: 12 - 15 minutes.
  • Workable: after 30 minutes.
  • Tensile strength: 60 N/mm².
  • Shear strength: 24 N/mm².
  • Impact strengt : < 20 KJ/m².
  • Constant temperature resistance: from -40°C to +150°C - approved for paint bake cycling and powder coating (+200° - 20 minutes).
  • Chemical resistance: to most solvents, gasoline, diesel, oil, acides, antifreeze, cleaning products, aggressive vapours, ...
  • UV-resistance: OK.
  • Adherence: stainless steel, steel, aluminium, lacquer, varnish, wood, plexiglass, polycarbonates, PVC, fibreglass, ABS, polyester, acrylates, vinyl, esters, urethane, ...
  • Colour: black.
  • Can be painted: yes.
  • Shelf life: 9 months, keep dry, cool and frost-proof.

Application

  • Repair of hard and flexible plastics and fiber-filled plastics, such as polyester, with the exception of PE, PP, Silicon, Teflon®, ...
  • Fast bonding ABS, SMC, PVC, HPL, melamine, wood, glass, stone, ....
  • Extreme adhesion to varnished and non-varnished metals, ABS, PVC, acrylates, thermosetting composites, ....
  • Suitable for paint-baking cycle, for powder coating and matte varnish, 200°C - 20 min.

Instructions

Substrate preparation

  • Clean with TT-1014 SIkker Afrens and/or TT-1007 Superfoam.
  • Sand the material.
  • Remove all dust.
  • Degrease with TT-1014 Sikker Afrens and TT-1007 Superfoam.
  • Blow dry.

Cartridge preparation

  • Remove the cap from the cartridge.
  • Place the cartridge in the gun.
  • Pump until both components flow out of the cartridge.
  • Place the mixer tip on the cartridge and, if necessary, cut off the nozzle to enlarge the opening.
  • First spout out 2 cm of product.
  • Apply on a clean and dry substrate.
  • Place a new mixer tip after a 5-minute break.

Storage

  • Remove mixer tip.
  • Clean duo cartridge.
  • Put cap back in place.
