Product description

Novaroof is a sealant with a unique composition. Due to the combination of bitumes, butyl rubber and glass fibres, a product with a very high tensile strength and flexibility is obtained. Novaroof can be applied on most surfaces, also in a moist condition.

  • Composition: modified bitumes, glass fibres and butyl rubber.
  • Form: pasta.
  • Smell: characteristic.
  • Color: black. 
  • Elongation at rupture (dry film): 170%.
  • Temperature resistance: -45°C to +85°C.
  • U.V. resistance: excellent.
  • Water resistance: very good in case of a normal draining.
  • Climatic resistance: excellent.
  • Resistance to hydrocarbons: non resistant.
  • Application temperature: -12°C to +50°C.
  • Shelf life: 24 months, in closed original packaging, dry, cool and frost-free.

Application

  • Novaroof can be applied on most building materials: stone, concrete, wood, lead, copper, roofing materials, galvanized steel, insulation materials, PVC, polyester.
  • all types of roof repairs: sloping and flat roofs, roof gutters, ribs, drains, lead flashings, corrugated sheets, ....
  • sealing and finishing roof seams, eaves, grommets, chimneys, as cold glue for roof repairs with bituminous roof materials, waterproofing concrete and masonry on foundations and terraces and corrosion protection of underground pipes and canals.

Instructions

  • Apply on a clean, stable substrate.
  • If necessary clean and dry (without heating).
  • Remove loose parts and hardened bitumen.
  • Cut open in a cross shape any blisters in the roof cladding.
  • Major repairs should be reinforced with pieces of roofing material or glass fibre fabric.
  • Apply with caulking gun, brush or spatula.
  • Finish and clean tools with TT-1014 Sikker Afrens FS.

 

Do not apply on snow or ice.

For best results apply a thickness of 3 mm in layers of 1.5 mm.

Consumption +/-2 kg/m² per layer of 1.5 mm.
